Sweet! A new pair of shoes!

Hi!

A few days back my sister went to the thrift store and found some beautiful shoes. They were a bit too big for her so she asked me if I wanted them. She took them with her (after all, who would leave shoes that cost only three euros all alone in a shop?) and I tried them on. They are also slightly too big for me, but I can at least walk in them.

It was a bit rainy this morning, but during a short sunny period of time I was able to make some pictures with my sister Mayke. She was kind enough to help me out by making pictures of me.

Meet Mellow, the sweet yet slightly slow pony who lives in a nice meadow behind our house.

Miep also wants to know what's going on

Moomin and Sopje are very curious creatures!

Hi Floortje!

I hope you have a great day and that your weather wherever you are is better than it is here in The Netherlands!

Love,
Mia

Inspiration: Lauren Winter

Lauren Winter, or Blooming Leopold, is a very important person of inspiration for me. Not only is she very beautiful, she wears gorgeous clothes as well! I've been checking her blog for some time now, and I've saved a lot of pictures in my 'inspiration' file. So, I thought it would be time to put them together in one post.

My one and only Thrift-Find

Of course we have a thrift store, but not like the thrift stores you can find in the US or the UK or what other country you live in. We have boring stuff. You have to search really hard to find something you like. A while ago I went to a thrift shop and I found a beautiful book. I love old books with old bindings and beautiful covers. The book that I found is super cool, because it has little drawings inside and the language is old Dutch. It was only 1 euro! Oh, I love thrift stores..! I like to watch vintage-blogs, and American girls find gorgeous dresses and shoes and coats, and all we have is oldfashion stuff (no real vintage), and cups and plates. I just wish I could find the perfect vintage dress with perfect vintage shoes and a perfect vintage purse and a perfect vintage hat..

Even Alice loves it :)

Yes, her right eye is blind. It looks really scary and it's painful for her. I've got medicins, but they don't work. We'll have to let her eye taken out...

I Wish I Had...

Feather Extensions
I absolutely love them. I allready have (hardly visible) highlights in my hair, but these feathers are amazing. I think that they'd add just a little more. And they're definitely my style. I saw that the person who is my second best inspiration has them, and they look awesome. You can see in this video that she's putting them in her hair. It looks super easy! Unfortunately I can't just buy things from America, and I don't have any money.

You can buy them here: Famous Feathers

A petticoat for under my skirts
Not that I have that many skirts though. I have one skirt and several dresses, but I don't like them the way they are. They're so.. flat. I love wide, puffy skirts. So, I'm in need of a petticoat. I hate the fact that they're so expensive. And the fact that I don't have money for another eight days.

Just a vintage shop in our neighbourhood
I think it's outrageous that there's no vintage shop near my place. None. I'll have to travel to Amsterdam, or Utrecht (yes, The Netherlands.. Dumb huh?) to find one that has some nice stuff. I can't go to a thrift store, because they just sell books (which are pretty cool though) and old cups and plates. And games for kids. And videotapes, they just stay there because no-one has a video player anymore. Well, we do, but I guess it broke. There are other cool things too (like old computers, or even older typing machines), but no vintage clothes.
Hey, I just remembered that I actually have two vintage dresses, but they're both not really every-day-dresses. I have a black dress, which I bought for christmas, and a white one. If I'd wear the white one, you'd think I'd be on my way to my wedding.

Well, enough wishing and complaining,

Love,
Mia (who doesn't have any money..)
